How to keep the car smelling fresh?

Travelling is your passion? Long drives out of town get you excited and energized? Then, you’re a certified “wanderlust.” And yes, while that term’s been overused, over-tattooed and over-captioned, it’s still something to be proud of. Well, unless you have a car that doesn’t share the same fresh energy and commitment. A lot of us spend so much on our vehicles, but not so much on it smells from the inside.

There’s so much you could do if you’re looking to have a wholesome driving experience. There are many car perfumes available with which you’ll be able to keep your car interiors pleasant and inviting. All you need to do is choose a fragrance that suits your personality and lasts long, and voila, you’re good to go!

Here are a few ways with which you can keep your car smelling fresh throughout:

  1. Coffee Beans:

Keeping a few coffee beans lying around your car is one of the best decisions you could make. If you love the smell of brewed coffee first thing in the morning, then you can keep that pleasant smell lingering throughout the week or month.

Coffee beans act as a natural car freshener and are perfect for anybody looking to add a layer of freshness to the vehicle. It’s simple, all you need to do is fill a sock with beans and keep them lying around the car. Place it under the driver’s seat and if you’ve another sock, place that under the passenger’s seat.

If you’re not up for using socks, that’s fine! Use a small paper bag and the effect works just the same 😊

  1. Essential Oils:

Essential oils can make for some of the best car perfumes if you’re looking to keep your car smelling delightful and fresh through the day. The effect can spread right throughout the car and mask any stale odours which could otherwise hinder the driving experience overall.

All you’ll need is a little clay disk which is absorbent. Add around 10 to 15 drops of essential oils to your clay disk and let it absorb the oil. Once it does, you can place it in your car and enjoy the pleasant smell of the scented air. This method is highly useful and lasts a long time.

You can find these clay discs at many kitchen speciality stores or even craft stores. Any terra-cottra vessel also works well, like a flower-pot saucer which can be purchased at home improvement stores.

  1. Baking Soda:

The best way to tackle any problem in your vehicle is to stick to the basics and let the product do the work. Baking soda is one of the best products you could utilize inside your car if you’re looking to absorb the musty smell that pets or children leave behind. It only takes a second to sprinkle around your car and within a few hours, all the foul-smelling aromas left behind disappear.

Take a bit of baking soda and place it on the carpet. You can then scrub it with a brush and let it settle overnight before vacuuming it the next morning. It’s a short process that has a long-term effect in ensuring your vehicle stays fresh through the month!

  1. Car Air Fresheners:

The simplest way to go about making your vehicle smelling awesome is to use a car perfume gel or a car fragrance gel in the vehicle. Place the gel on the dashboard of the vehicle and you’ll start noticing the pleasant fragrance throughout the day. Generally, these car gels last for a while – around a month or so, allowing you to replace them once the fragrance dies out.

There are also car perfumes which can be used effectively. These perfumes can be placed inside the dashboard and taken out and sprayed whenever needed. You could keep a couple of fragrances in case you’re looking to mix it up a bit.

Thus, keeping your car smelling fresh isn’t as hard as it seems. All you need is to experiment with different items which are used on an everyday basis and you’ll be able to feel the difference in an instant!
